Located on Coolidge Highway, this neighborhood gastropub offers delicious small plates, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and unique entrees. Republica also offers family-style catering complete with soup, salad, entrees, and sides for those nights when cooking just isn’t an option. This family-owned staple is also turning 10 this September!

June & December is a studio and store renowned for crafting sustainable gifts that narrate the intricate and fascinating tales of nature. Co-founder Katie Forte says, “We also carry works from like-minded artists near and far in our brick-and-mortar store and are a proud member of 1% for the planet, promising to pledge 1% of every dollar made back to the earth.”
While it may be the oldest establishment on the list, this beloved neighborhood pizza joint is a chic, date-worthy destination, complete with a beautiful back patio. The pizza is excellent, but don’t overlook the apps, sandwiches, and salads that add flair and depth to this already bonafide Berkley staple.
Since 2010, Yellow Door Art Market has provided the Berkley, Michigan community with hip, handmade wares from 70+ Michigan artists. You can find pottery, candles, jewelry, soap and wooden crafts at this locally-owned shop. “Think of us as an indoor art fair that’s open 7 days a week. Each artist’s space in the market is like an individual mini-shop, with the majority of each sale made going to the actual artist” says Karin Lupien-Parrish, Art Market Manager.

By the same owners as Yellow Door Art Market, April and Steve McCrumb, Catching Fireflies is known to be a “Whimsical Gift Gallery.” This is the perfect place to find a last-minute gift or add a unique style to your own home. April tells us, “Catching Fireflies specializes in making days brighter. Our happy shop is a whimsical world filled with clever & delightful gifts for all occasions… birthday, baby, wedding, anniversary, graduation, retirement, hostess, holidays, or just because.”
Right on Woodward Ave., Vinsetta Garage offers signature pizzas, burgers, bowls, and craft cocktails in a spacious, Detroit-centric environment. Ever tried a coney pizza? This is a restaurant that embraces all things wacky. Built in a one-time auto shop, Vinsetta Garage calls on classic Detroit nostalgia in a fun, family-friendly setting.
Berkley Common features an impressive list of craft beer, a full cocktail menu, and a wine list. You can enjoy their seasonal menu that utilizes the freshest ingredients. The kitchen currently cranks out dinner selections ranging from burrata to Korean lamb ribs to wild boar gnocchi. While it’s hard to define their specific genre of cuisine, locals have flocked to enjoy this creative option that offers substantial patio seating and reasonable prices.
24 Seconds Bar & Grill is Berkley’s favorite place to catch a game. The U-shaped bar counter is outlined by an impressive arrangement of flatscreens so you won’t miss a moment of the action and the rooftop deck provides the perfect place to enjoy a night out with friends. This spot has a menu inspired by popular tailgating bites and happy hour specials Monday through Friday.
